I have a question…. Do Car Rental Companies Offer Car Seats?
If you’re traveling with a newborn baby or a toddler, you have a running list of things to plan ahead for and remember while you’re on the go! Not only do you need to worry about keeping them fed, changing diapers and keeping them happy and safe, if you’re renting a car, you have to make sure your kids have their own car seats!
Most rental car companies offer child car seat rentals along with your car rental. But beware! Sometimes the charge for these seats can be really high, as much as $30 extra per day! If you’re renting a car for an extended period of time, those costs can add up quickly.
Bringing your own car seat is sometimes a better option if you’re taking a long trip. That way you’ll save on the daily expense of having to pay the rental company for a seat. If you’re flying to the destination where you’ll pick up the car, just plan ahead to bring the car seat as additional checked baggage. There might be a nominal fee but it likely won’t be as much as a rental seat would be.
Additionally, some rental companies don’t offer child car seats or they might be out of stock when you arrive. If you do need to rent a car seat, make sure to ask the company about their availability and reservations. Don’t forget to ask what type of car seat it is either – you want to make sure that the types they offer are up to your standards!
